“Caroline,” he whispers, right in her ear, and now his cheek lifts itself just slightly away from hers, and she feels his fingers reach in to take its place, and, God, how carefully he touches her- has she ever been touched like this before-(x)

maybe there’s a time
maybe there’s a day you’ll be mine

My contribution to the Klaropocalypse - 01/23/14

AU/1929’s Wall Street Crash triggered a world crisis that seeped into all the layers of society. Even the Mikaelsons, who’d had centuries to shape their prosperity, felt a certain economic uneasiness. It was the youngest Mikaelson, Kol, who came up with what he called the splendid idea of running a circus to bring in some new money. Ages it took him and Caroline — Klaus’ precious wife who was just as excited about the glamour and blitz of a circus life — to persuade the other Mikaelsons. After that, business was a-rollin’. Elijah took upon himself to ensure the business wouldn’t go bankrupt within the month, while Rebekah searched the entire country for the most talented men and women to teach acrobatic tricks to be performed during the show. Kol declared himself ringmaster from day one, stating he was entitled to that role as it’d all been his idea. No one complained as Kol was more than fit for this particular role of entertainer. Caroline took on the show with the animals and even persuaded Klaus to help her tend to the cares of the beasts. It seemed Klaus had always had a soft spot for animals; horses in particular. With their supernatural senses, they were able to create a show that soon made name as the best and most extroardinary circus of the world. It wasn’t long before their economic gap was filled again, but being so satisfied with the traveling life that came with a circus, they kept the job for at least another decade. It brought the family closer than they’d ever been before.

 I’m saying your name on
the bridge at dawn. Your name like an animal
covered with frost, your name like a music that’s
been transposed, a suit of fur, a coat of mud,
a lungful of glass, the sails
in wind and the slap of waves on the hull
of a boat that’s sinking to the sound of mermaids
singing songs of love, and the tug of a simple
profound sadness when it sounds so far away. ?
